On back of the first page and on the two folios before are extracts, a table of contents, and two seal impressions. Repetition of a seal impression next to the colophon (fol. 209a). Note on the number of folios, lines of verse and other inscriptions on folio following the colophon., Collation: Paper ; ii (later) + 209 + i (later) ; catchwords ; foliation in ink using Hindu-Arabic numerals ; modern foliation in pencil using Western numerals., Layout: 25 lines per page ; frame-ruled in red., Description: Text commented upon overlined in red ; watermarks (later flyleaves only: crown-star-crescent) ; MS in good condition., Origin: According to colophon copy completed Saturday 20 Muḥarram 994 in al-Fayyūm by Shams al-Dīn Muḥammad Ghālī al-Khayrī al-Shāfiʻī (fol. 209a)., Incipit: بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم الحمد لله الذى كرم بنى آدم بالعقل القويم وهداهم بنور توفيقه ... اما بعد فان اولى ما تقترحه القرايح القوارح واعلى ما تجنح الى تحصيل الجوارح الجوارح ..., Colophon: و وافق الفراغ من ذلك يوم السبت المبارك بعد العصر بمدينة الفيوم الموافق لعشرين شهر محرم الحرام ... عام اربع وتسعين وتسعماية احسن الله تعالى ... وذلك على يد العبد الفقير الى الله تعالى الشيخ شمس الدين محمد المدعو غالي الخيرى الشافعى غفر الله تعالى له ولوالديه ولمن قرا فيه وطالعه ونظر اليه والمسلمين اجمعين امين م م | Later type II (with flap) binding in brown leather. Blind-stamped mandorla outlined in gold and gold-tooled edging. Marbled paper pastedowns. Endbands.
