There are frequent references to Shams al-Dīn Jaʻfar ibn Aḥmad ibn ʻAbd al-Salām (d. 573/ 1177: Brockelmann, GAL, I, 508) from whom the author received traditions. The book is divided into ten bābs (the beginning of the first bāb is missing). \| Ms. codex., Title from upper edge., On fol. 1a: "al-Sīrah li-Yaḥyá al-Zaydī" in pencil in Arabic script., Ms. erroneously foliated: second leaf is skipped. Record follows erroneous numbering., Physical description: 33 lines per page; written in small naskhi in black on white glazed, laid European paper. Rubrication and catchwords; text framed in red border. Headings in large red script. A few marginal notes and corrections. Text on fol. 2a-97b., Origin: Copy completed and validated in Jumādá al-Awwal 1080 H. [October 1669], with the support of Yaḥyá ibn al-Ḥusayn ibn Amīr al-Muʾminīn al-Qāsim ibn Muḥammad ibn ʻAlī (d. after 1687) (fol. 97b)., The second bāb begins (fol. 4a): ... الباب الثانى فى الحمل به ومولده ... وعدله وبرکته وکراماته ... اخبرنا القاضى الاجل شمس الدىن جمال المسلمىن جعفر بن احمد بن عبدالسلام بن ابى ىحىى رضوان الله علىه مناولة ثم قراة قال اخبرنا \| Bāb 2 (fol. 4a): فى الحمل به ومولده وعدله وبركته وكرامات, Bāb 3 (10b): فى رضاعه وعدله وتربيته, Bāb 4 (14a): فى مبعثه وما ورد فيه من العلماء المقدمين, Bāb 5 (21b): فى نکاحه وذکر افضل ازواجه وهي خديجة, Bāb 6 (24b): فى فضل فاطمة وذكر نكاحها ووفاتها, Bāb 7 (29a): فى ذکر ازواجه, Bāb 8 (64a): فى فضل على ومبلغ سنه وذكر شيء من خطبه ووصاياه, Bāb 9 (69a): فى فضل الحسن والحسىن واخبارهما واخبار ساير اخوتهما وذكر اعدادهم وما ورد في فضلهم وفضل اهل البيت على كافتهم, Bāb 10 (79b): فى اخبار ابى الحسين زيد بن علي بن الحسين وذكر سنه ومولده وجهاده وقتله وصلبه \| Acquired from Abraham Shalom Yahuda, 1942. \| Mach, R.
