January 1602]. Accompanying materials: a. Inventory cataloguing slip in hand of Winifred Smeaton Thomas. -- b. Acquisitions slip from Yahuda. Former shelfmark: From interior of upper cover and spine label, "IL 96" (likely supplied by Yahuda, see acquisitions slip). Binding: Pasteboards covered in brown leather ; Type II binding (with flap) ; board linings in beige laid paper ; fore edge flap lined in purple textile ; upper and lower covers carry blind-stamped scalloped mandorla (filled with symmetrical vegetal composition, similar to Déroche class. OSd1) as well as tooled border ; sewn in beige thread, two stations ; only traces of headband remain ; overall in somewhat poor condition with much abrasion, staining, lifting and losses of leather, etc. ; repairs to spine, fore edge flap, and board edges in red leather. Support: European laid paper with 8 laid lines per cm. (vertical), chain lines spaced 23-28 mm. apart (horizontal), and possible hand or glove watermark (see p.40, 41, 66, 366, 382, etc.) ; medium cream in color, well-burnished to glossy, sturdy and dense though crisp. Decoration: Some keywords and notabilia (side-heads) rubricated, others in blue ink. Script: Maghribī script ; quite an elegant hand with effect of tilt to the right. Layout: Written in 22 lines per page ; frame-ruled (impression of ruling board evident). Collation: 4, V (14), V+1 (25), 5 V(75), VI (87), 4 V(127), V+1 (138), 4 V(178), V+1 (189), II (193) ; chiefly quinions ; middle of the quire marks in the form of al-khamsah al-ghubārīyah in the upper outer corner of the right-hand leaf ; catchwords present ; pagination in pencil, Western numerals, supplied during digitization. Colophon: "كملت الحاشية المباركة بحمد الله وحسن عونه وصلى الله على سيدنا محمد واله سادس وعشرين من شهر رجب المبارك الفرد من عام عشرة بعد الالف ..." Explicit: "والاوائل والمبادي دون الاواخر والثواني صح قرأة ..." Incipit: "قول السيد الكلام هو اللفظ فان قيل لي [؟] شيء لم يبتدا ..." Title from inscription on 'title page' (p.9). Ms. codex. Ownership statement on 'title page' (p.9) possibly dated 1021 [1612 or 13] in name of ʻAlī ibn ʻAbd al-ʻAzīz ibn ʻAbd Allāh ibn ... [?] ibn al-Ḥusayn ibn ʻĪsá ibn Yāsīn al-Sharīf al-Ḥasanī, statement reads "ملك ... واقل عبيده علي بن عبد العزيز بن عبد الله بن ... بن الحسين بن عيسى بن ياسين الشريف الحسنى ... الدار والمنشا المالكي مذهبا الاشعري اعتقادا ... وفي اوائل ... احد وعشرين والف" ; occasional marginal corrections and notabilia (side-heads)..
