Ibn ʻAbbād's commentary on Ibn ʻAṭāʼ Allāh's al-Ḥikam al-ʻAṭāʼīyah. | Ms. codex., Title from fol. 2a., Copied by Muḥammad bin ʻAlī bin ʻAbd al-ʻAzīz bin Aḥmad bin Abī al-Ḥasan al-Shādhilī ... bin al-Ḥasan bin ʻAlī bin Abī Ṭālib -- colophon (fol. 171a)., 23 lines per page. Written in medium large naskh in black ink with use of red for rubrication. Catchwords on the verso of each leaf. Thick glazed dark cream paper with prominent fibres. Ff. 20-58 are replacements of later date on different, glazed European paper. Foliation in Western numerals in pencil. A couple of ownership statements on fol. 2a, undated., Incipt: قال الفقير الى الله تعالى المعتمد فى غفران ذنوبه على الله محمد بن ابراهيم ابن عباد النفزي ... اما بعد فان لما راينا كتاب الحكم المنسوب الى الشيخ الامام ... بن عطا الله الاسكندرى, Explicit: واخرجنا على يديه من الظلمات الى النور سيدنا ومولانا محمد خاتم النبيين والمرسلين وحبيب رب العالمين ... وسلم تسليما كثيرا | Brown leather with faint blind stamped mandorals in the centre and blind fillets around the borders of covers. Evidence of envelope flap which is now missing. Spine repaired in red goatskin. Resown with red thread over old endbands. Pastedowns in yellow paper.
