Fiziksel açıklama
Part of a kaftan. The upper part of the right front panel of a child's kaftan with part of the high circular neck and the short sleeve with its characteristic curved opening. There is a seam between the bodice and the sleeve. The upper two thirds of the bodice has been lined with loosely woven undyed cotton. The sleeve has been backed (in the late19th century) with tightly woven linen which seems to have been glued in place. The fabric is a woven silk with pink warp and yellow weft and with a metal strip used as a supplementary weft. The pattern is Italianate with linked scrolling stems and stylised flowers. This is probably the upper part of T.164-2000.
Üretim
This is probably from the collection of kaftans acquired in 1884. They are said to have come from royal tombs in Bursa.
