Fiziksel açıklama One of a matching pair of tapestry-woven square panels, in purple-brown wool and undyed linen thread, sewn into a plain linen groundweave, a fragment of which remains. The slit-tapestry woven panel depicts a lion hunt by two men on horseback and two on foot, on a false-hatched background. The scene is bordered by an inner border of 'open' scroll borders within which are running animals, and an outer border of cresting with discs. Details are picked out in flaying thread brocading in undyed linen thread. Plain weave: Linen warp (S-spun, 28/cm) Linen weft (S-spun, 16/cm) Tapestry weave: Linen warp (S-spun) Wool weft (Z-spun)
