Fiziksel açıklama
Warp: white wool; Z3S; 16 threads per inch (60 per dm). Weft: wool; Z2S; 10 colours - dark red, red, light red, yellow, dark green, dark blue, blue, pink, dark brown, white; 94 threads per inch (360 per dm). Side finish: left-hand side has returned weft. Right-hand side is cut. End finish: lower end has one line of decorative stitching in red/light red, ending in a plait. Very tightly twisted warp loops are plaited horizontally but 2.5cm from end of the weaving. Upper end is cut. Design: Field: red ground with one quarter of a central medallion with white ground and pendant. The medallion is outlined in green, blue and light red and contains multi-coloured blossoms, leaves and florets. There is a blue and red flower in the pendant. Main field: the Herati sickle leaves are predominantly blue, pink and green. Between pairs of leaves are bands of flowers, the bands alternatively pink and dark blue. The outer sickle leaves frame a light red diamond outlined in green in a central blossom. Main border: yellow ground with floral meander of dark brown stems and pink flowers. Inner and outer borders: dark blue ground with stylised flowers and leaves on a central stem. Alternating red and light red.
