Fiziksel açıklama Woollen Caucasian carpet with blue hooked medallion, arrow heads on a long pole and blue stepped corner pieces on a red ground, covered with scattered motifs (animals, etc.) Warp: white, brown and white/brown plied together wool; Z2S; 13 threads per inch (50 per dm). Weft: red wool; Z-spun, unplied; 2 shoots after each row of knots; 10 knots per inch (38 knots per dm). Pile: wool; 7 colours: red, orange, dark blue, blue, dark brown, black, white; symmetrical knot tied around 2 threads; 65 knots per sq. inch (950 per sq. dm). Side finish: one thick cord, overcast to produce a chevron pattern in orange/white and black/white (lower part only). End finish: Lower: total length (2.5 cm) made-up of 1.5 cm. plain weave in dark brown, orange, blue and then orange weft; (1.5 cm) band of dark brown and white weft floats forming a small diaper pattern; evidence of a further band of orange plain weave and a fringe in which some weft loops remain max. 8 cm). Upper: total length 12.5 cm. made up of bands of plain weave in red, blue, red alternating with 2 bands of dark brown and white floats (see lower end) and one of brown and red floats; evidence of a final band of orange and warp threads grouped in fours and secured with a single knot (8 cm max). Design: Field: red ground with central, blue, hooked rectangle with arrow-like extensions and containing red or orange arrows. With dark blue stepped spandrels the outline of which continues as a zigzag along the sides of the field. There is a small flowerhead in each triangle. Gulls, rosettes, birds and animals are scattered across the ground, especially in the spandrels. Main border: white ground with geometric meander enclosing squares and squared flowers. Inner and outer borders: red ground with single botehs along a central black line.
Üretim no cf. available but note: Housego (1978) illus. 37 of this piece., "a curious rug...Sava area, North Iran. The quality of the wool indicates this latter region" (ie.
