Plain weave cotton embroidered with silk in chain or tambour stitch.This may be part of a scarf. As displayed it is bound on three sides with a dark fabric. The white cotton ground is decorated with bands of isolated flowers: small round red carnation with green leaves alternating with a larger spray of a red pointed carnation and three buds and green stems. 8 bands are visible.
