Fiziksel açıklama
Plain weave cotton embroidered with silk in straight stitches, needleweaving and pulled thread work; whitework; bound with woven silk and woven silk and metal thread. Probably cut down from a larger piece. The decoration forms two zones: [1] A series of patterned rows [a] of needlewoven small hexagons; [b] a row of alternate [with one exception] lozenges, one of straight stitch, the other of pulled thread; [c] repeat of [a]; [d] a narrow zigzag band of straight stitch; [e] a wide band of needlewoven small joined lozenges; [f] repeat of [d]; [g] repeat of [a]; [h] repeat of [b]; [i] repeat of [a]. [2] two large hexagonal forms of needlewoven 'stars' side by side, outlined in a basket-weave pattern of pulled thread. The spaces between these 2 motifs is densely packed with small squares of 4 triangles of straight stitch. Cotton thread: Z-spun Embroidery Thread: white silk; 2S Binding: bias cut; two types of fabric: [1] incomplete pattern of narrow brown and white stripes on a dark blue ground patterned with either simple 4-petalled rosettes in heavily tarnished metal thread, or a stylized leaf/flowerhead in metal thread edged in red, with green leaves outlined in yellow; twill binding. Metal Thread: silver strip close Z-wound on yellow silk core. [2] silk satin patterned with composite stripes of white, red and yellow bearing a flowerhead in pink, white, yellow and green.
