Panel probably from a linen tunic.Egyptian, possibly Akhmim, ca. AD300-500. Tapestry woven undyed linen and purple wool. Double linen warps. Imagery of a naked warrior with a shield in a circular medallion with leafy stems in the spandrels. Medallion not complete. The naked warrior symbolised a spiritual battle.
