Malzemeler ve teknikler Wool
Fiziksel açıklama WARP: white wool; Z2S; 15 threads per inch (62 per dm). WEFT: red wool; Z spun, unplied; 2 shoots, occasionally 3 or 4, after each row of knots; 11 knots per inch (43 per dm). PILE: wool; 7 colours: red, orange, dark green, dark blue, blue, black, white; symmetrical knot tied around 2 threads; 83 knots per sq. inch (1333 per sq. dm). SIDE FINISH: incomplete, but evidence to suggest a web of at least 4 cords. END FINISH: lower: 8.5 cms. max of plaiband with red and then a broad band of dark blue. Upper: 7.5 cms. plain weave; broad band of dark blue, weft, band of red weft, remains of a band of dark blue. DESIGN: field: red ground with six-sided large medallion, hooked without in white and within in red along the diagonals; the medallion contains a red diamond outlined by red-centred white flowers and leaves; each point of a fine white central cross bears a large dark green stylised blossom; on either side of these are smaller dark green flowers echoing the white ones along the outlined; above and below the cross is the white outline of a pair of tulips and beond these a further small dark green flower. In each of the four spandrels is a small red diamond hooked and horned in white, similar white horns are inward-facing along the sides. On the spandrels and the dark blue medallion are scattered geometric motifs, mainly four, five and eight-sided and at the upper and lower end of the field are two part-motifs of two pairs of white Y-shapes joined. Border, red ground with dark green octagons with a red centre separated by diagonal bars formed from five small white squares.
