Fiziksel açıklama Bag: As a bag, this would have been joined to produce a pile face on both sides. We know of no other example so this piece may have had some other function. WARP: cream wool; Z2S; 20 threads per inch (74 per dm). WEFT: light brown wool; Z spun, unplied; 2 shoots after every row of knots; 18 knots per inch (68 per dm). PILE: wool; 8 colours: red, blue/green; dark blue, dark pink, pink, brown, cream, white; asymmetrical knot open to the right and tied around 2 threads; 180 knots per sq. inch (2516 per sq. dm). SIDE FINISH: one cord oversewn with blue wool. END FINISH: Lower: 2.5 cms. plain weave with white weft. Upper: 3.5 cm. plain weave with white weft and 3 bands of red weft. Both ends subsequently cut. Central band: 4.5 cms. plain weave with red, blue/green and red weft. DESIGN: the two faces are identical in design and similar in colour. Field: white ground rectangle containing a stepped and hooked gul with two narrow borders framing and three hooked triangles on each side. The rectangle is scattered with flowerheads and there is a stepped angular motif in each corner. Borders: seven borders, from the inside. (1) and (7): red or pink arched blocks outlined in white on a blue/green ground. (2) and (6) white diamonds (3) and (5) interlocking Y-motifs. (4) quartered diamonds separating half guls on either side. Upper and lower bands: white ground with three or three and a half diamonds divided by red, hooked bars. Date catalogued: 10.8.94
