Knotted pile wool Wool
Fiziksel açıklama
Woollen carpet of knotted pile. WARP: white wool; Z2S; 7 threads per inch (30 per dm). WEFT: red wool; Z-spun, unplied; 3 shoots after each row of knots; 4 knots per inch (20 per dm). PILE: wool; 8 colours: red, yellow, green, dark blue, blue, light blue, dark brown, white; symmetrical knot tied around 2 threads; 14 knots per sq. inch (300 per sq. dm). SIDE FINISH: returned wefts. END FINISH: lower: incomplete. 2 cms. plain weave with 3 shoots of brown wool, 2 shoots of red wool and then the remainder with white weft; there are some warp loops in the fringe. Upper: maximum of 5 cms plain weave with white weft and with plaited edge. At either end there is a wedge of red woollen weft. DESIGN Field: red ground with crenelated hexagon and half hexagons laid out on a grid system. The red ground which forms the grid contains blue rosettes. Each hexagon contains an octagonal medallion with a trefoil at the four cardinal points. Side border: two stripes of coloured blocks. Lower border: S-motifs in cartouches. Upper band: one band of coloured blocks and no other border.
