Fiziksel açıklama Woollen carpet. WARP: shades of brown and white wool; Z2S; 12 threads per inch in lower part and 15-16 in upper (47 per dm. in lower and 58 in upper). WEFT shades of brown wool; Z2S and 3 parallel threads per shoot; one shoot after each row of knots; 9 knots to the inch (35 per dm). PILE: wool; 9 colours: red, yellow, green, dark blue, blue, dark brown, brown, light brown, white; symmetrical knot tied around 2 threads; 54-70 knots per sq. inch (822-1015 per sq. dm). SIDE FINISH: incomplete but one cord oversewn with brown wool. END FINISH: Lower: incomplete with 1.5 cm. of plain weave with dark brown weft. Warp ends loops finished with a cord of red and yellow wool which may have been chained around the loops. One line of red and white weft twining immediately below the pile. Upper: incomplete but 1.5 cm. plain weave with light brown wool and 2 passes of red/yellow weft twining. Evidence of possible warp twining to secure the end. DESIGN: Field: red ground with average of three or three and a half botehs across the width with white and blue flowers coming out of a bowl. Main border: yellow ground with floral meander with red, blue or white flowers and blue or green diamond shaped leaves. Inner border: white ground with floral meander (as above) with green, red or yellow flowers and red or green diamond leaves. On either side of the main border is a reciprocal Y-motif border. Outer border: solid light brown. Half way down the piece, just above the cut, there is a 4-legged horned animal in dark blue on the right and a date (2 versions of it?) and a stylised 3-legged, long tailed animal also in dark blue.
Üretim Carpet has an inscription which could be AH1202 (1787) or AH1283 (1866). See historical note. Made in Hamadan
