A fragment from an undyed, linen tunic. Probably a clavi. Egyptian, Hawara, ca. AD400-600. The band is tapestry woven purple wool; a row of men, wearing cloaks, with shields. There is an outer border of scrolling waves. This is a common motif. The linen is approx. 11x18 tpc and is slightly stained.
