Brocaded wool and cotton
Fiziksel açıklama
Dress fabric of woven and brocaded wool, twill binding. There is a strip of black bias-cut cotton sewn along the upper edge. Incomplete pattern with a dark brown ground with a stylised cypress tree form outlined in red, white and blue and infilled with multi-coloured triangular form, down ward curving flowering branches in blue with a blue, brown, red and yellow rosette and another in bud form on top - all on a red ground. Surmounting the 'tree' motif is a multi-coloured trefoil shape on a blue ground with a jagged circular outline in green edged in yellow and red in white. Either side of this motif is a multi-coloured lobed teardrop or boteh edged in red and white with a large multi-coloured rosette infill on a yellow ground. Below these motifs is a thin undulating band edged in white with a green, red and blue core. The rest of the ground is covered with multi-coloured leaves or flowering sprays and two tulip forms in blue edged in red. Warp: black wool [possibly silk?]. Weft: white, blue, green, red, yellow, dark brown, light brown wool, all very tight Z-spun. There is one shoot of light brown weft after 3 dark brown shoots.
