Fiziksel açıklama Plain weave machine-woven cotton embroidered with silk in straight stitches, needleweaving and pulled thread work; whitework; backed with roller printed cotton and faced with woollen twill. The central area has two corner units forming a pointed mihrab/arch form, the spandrels of which are decorated with diagonal rows of lozenges, plain and stepped, 8-pointed stars/flowers and reciprocal trefoils, the zones of which are separated by narrow bands of pulled thread work. Below the arch apex is a pendant rectangle [for the mohr tablet] in various straight stitch motifs. Below this and to either side of a large comb motif are various stylized plant motifs. The comb has long narrow teeth of pulled thread and immediately below two rows of small lozenges form the rosary motif. The rest of this central area is patterned with isolated offset stylized plant motifs. A wide composite border then frames this area: [a] a narrow row of needlewoven hexagons and X-motifs. [b] a row of straight stitches and some pulled thread lozenges. [c] a wide border of alternate squares containing 8-pointed stars/flowers or a concentric X-motif, each separated by a pulled thread section. [d] as [b] [e] embroidered lozenges [f] a row of lozenges framed in pulled thread work and filled with straight stitch triangles [g] as [e] [h] as [a] followed by 2 rows of straight stitch motifs. Cotton thread: Z-spun Embroidery Thread: white silk; 2S Backing: white ground printed with a fine black meander bearing side branches and a variety of exotic blossoms, buds and leaves predominantly in blue, red, brown and pink. Facing: bias cut, woollen twill in narrow red and white stripes each with small isolated floral motifs in blue, green and yellow, in rows.
