Fiziksel açıklama
Trapping WARP: cream wool, with some 'barber pole' threads; Z2S; 22 threads per inch (85 per dm). WEFT: brown wool; Z spun, unplied; 2 parallel threads per shoot; usually 2 shoots after each row of knots but this varies; corrective wefts; 22 knots per inch (66 per dm). PILE: wool; 6 colours: dark red, light red, green, dark blue, brown, cream; asymmetrical knot open to the right and tied around 2 threads; 242 knots per sq. inch (2805 per sq. dm). SIDE FINISH: Outer sides: 2 cords overcast with red wool, the lower part was subsequently oversewn in red and blue. Inner sides: one cord overcast with red weft. END FINISH: Lower: 3.5 cms. plain weave with cream weft, and some red, turned and stitched in place. Upper: missing. DESIGN: Described as it would have been used: Field: red ground with two bands of three identical guls with stars in between. Pendant flaps: the outer ones have diamonds, some have a white field. The left one has diamonds and triangles in addition but the right one has only triangles. Both outer flaps were probably woven separately which accounts for differences in the patterns. Central flap: larger, white ground diamonds. Date catalogued: 21.6.94 .
