ملاحظات
This earring has many features which are typical of Turkish traditional jewellery, such as the use of filigree, the crescent shape, the pendants hanging from the lower edge, and the small piece of imitation coral. The way the wire is secured by a pin fastening, like those used on bracelets, is also common in the area, and not used anywhere in Europe. It is, however, rather smaller than is usual. It was bought for 6 shillings and 6 pence (the pair) at the International Exhibition, Paris, 1867.
