Fragment of plain woven undyed linen, cut on all edges, with a tapestry woven band in purple wool. The centre of the tapestry band is formed of lamella gold thread wound on undyed linen thread. The warp of the ground weave is collected (five to one) for the tapestry warp. Areas of the wool warp threads are missing. Ground weave: Linen warp (S-spun, 36/cm) Linen weft (S-spun, 34/cm) Tapestry weave: Linen warp (S-spun) Wool weft (Z-spun) Gold-thread with linen core (Z-spun)
