ملاحظات
This was described as an anklet ( Khulkhal ) when it was acquired by the Museum in Cairo in 1869. The design is not typical of Egypt. It is most common in Arabia, where it is worn on the upper arm, but an example from the 11th century was found in an excavation at Jerusalem, and more modern examples have been recorded in Syria and India in the 19th and early 20th century. It would originally have had bells or other pendants hanging from the loops at each end.
