Album of seventy numbered textile samples mounted on twelve cards. Numbers 1 to 52, 54, 68 and 70 are of linen tabby weaves, plain and stripes, from the Dynastic and Coptic periods. Number 64 is linen striped with wool, and number 66 is linen striped with silk. Numbers 57 and 63 are plain woollens. Number 53 is a Coptic piece with linen pile. Numbers 56, 58 and 61 are tapestry-woven with Coptic interlace and foliage patterns. Number 59 consists of three narrow linen and wool braids. Number 60 and 65 are fragments of patterned silks woven on a draw- loom in the 8th-10th century. Number 67 is a silk with a small lozenge pattern from ca. 13th century. Number 62 is a linen cloth embroidered with a small cross in red and violet wool. Number 69 is a piece of linen sprang with a pattern of human figures.
