Fiziksel açıklama
Resht work, plain weave felted wool, patchwork, inlaid work, embroidered with silk in a variety of stitches predominantly chain stitch. Note: researchers may use the terms applique and tambour when searching for this category of textile even though they are incorrect. In the centre, small lobed ovoid shape with an 18-pointed star in light grey decorated with 4 red floral shapes with light blue and blue lines. This is echoed outside the star and links large and small light blue [faded] flower heads; there are also yellow floral forms on a red ground. Beyond this is a light grey or blue ground decorated with light and mid-blue stems with flowers, leave sand rosettes in yellow, mid-blue, red, black, mauve and dark grey. There is a pendant top and bottom of the red medallion. In the four extended corners [spandrels] there is a red ground with similar decoration. there is a series of borders each edged with a narrow undecorated black or orange border: [1] red ground with a pair of undulating lines almost forming a series of ovals in light green and white silk. The spaces contain small dark blue rosettes or small yellow trefoils. [2] wider, yellow ground with alternate red rosettes or dark blue quadrafoils; extensive floral decoration including red leaf motifs and light grey or dark blue flower heads and embroidered details in blue, white, yellow etc.. [3] as [1] [4] red ground with no inserts, just embroidery. the design is very stylized with adjoining circles linking a candelabra-like motif on a shallow, wide basin. Embroidery thread: unplied silk, pink, yellow, 2 greens, 2 blues, 2 browns, white, cream, black, purple [largely faded, almost certainly synthetic]. Inset felted wool: white, mid-blue, dark blue, three shades of red, mauve, green, orange, yellow, brown, black. The seams are covered with a 4-ply black and white woollen cord.
