All across the face of the island names of British, Indian and other naval or merchant ships are painted in large, white letters along with some dates indicating visit. The Sultan reputedly referred to the island as his visitors' book.One rowing boat is visible left of centre in the middle-ground. A small defensive structure reminiscent of a Martello tower is visible on the crest of the hill at left.Inscriptions:Ink, below image: 'End of Hill, showing Fort on Left, Maskat.'
