Notlar The map, drawn by Lieutenant G H Bevan of HMS Foxduring an expedition which took place in April 1906, is of the northern tip of Hengam Island [Jazīreh-ye Hengām]. The map’s key indicates good roads, tracks, and water tanks, each of which is allocated a number. The map also indicates various buildings including the British telegraph office, along with its gardens, the Persian customs hut, flagstaffs, mosques and other structures. Running along the bottom of the map is a straight red line labelled ‘Boundary Line’, which indicates the proposed extent of the British telegraph concession. The map should be read in conjunction with the accompanying correspondence, including reports of the expedition written by Captain John Bridges Eustace, Senior Naval Officer of the Persian Gulf Division, and Commanding Officer of HMS Fox(ff 10-15). | 1 map | Materials: 1 paper folio.Dimensions: 520 x 820 mm.Foliation:The map is foliated with a circled pencil number in the top right corner. | more | less
