Codex, ink, colours and gold on paper, 372 folios, Persian text in nasta`liq script, with illuminated headling (sarlawh, fol. 1v), four paintings (fols. 116r, 226v, 276r, 302v), Breaths of intimacy from presences of sanctity (Nafaḥāt al-uns min ḥaẓarāt al-quds), by `Abd al-Raḥmān Nūr al-Dīn Jāmī (1414-1492), biographies of c. 600 great Sufi shaykhs, originally composed in 1478 (fols. 1v-350r), with appendix (takmila, fols. 350v-377r), by `Abd al-Ghafūr Lārī, a biographical account of Jāmī, with bibliography (f. 371r), colophon unsigned, Baghdad, Iraq, dated Shawwal 1003H, June 1595, with appendix dated Dhu'l-Qa`da 1003H, July 1595. A further five folios (detached from this codex) are also in the Chester Beatty: CBL T 474.42, T.474.79, T 474.177, T 474.219, T 474.248.
