Detached folio, ink, pigments and gold on paper, Persian text with full-page painting (verso), half of double-page composition inscribed to La`l, Agra, India, c. 1603-1605. This is one of fifty-eight folios now detached from its codex (Chester Beatty In 03). Extensively illustrated, these form volume two and part of volume three of the biography of the Mughal emperor Akbar (r. 1556-1605), composed by his court historian and minister Abu’l-Fazl `Allami.
