Materials include posters, wood cuts, news releases, propaganda promoting relationships with allies or demonizing enemies, as well as artifacts of combatants. The vast majority of the collection contains text in Japanese or Russian, although other languages such as Ottoman Turkish, French, and English do occur. Current contents of this growing collection highlight the Sino-Japanese war (1894-95), Russo-Japanese war (1904-05), the period preceding World War II, and World War II, and are sourced from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Memorial Library Special Collections Department.
