Notlar The photograph was taken on a trip to Ankara by the Istanbul-based photographer Jean Weinberg. He distributed the photograph as a postcard with the French title, ‘Angora… Ecrivain ambulant’. - Customers are grouped around two plea writers. The plea writer to the left is writing at his desk with his mouth open, while the customers watch him attentively. The plea writer is wearing a hat and elegant clothes, the customer has a flat cap and a worn suit. A sheet of paper with Ottoman Turkish script is attached to the desk. The plea writer to the right is writing something on his lap. His hat is lying on the desk. A man in badly torn clothing is kneeling next to the desk, watching the plea writer. A man in a kalpak – maybe a plea writer, too – is sitting in the middle of the picture talking to two youngsters. His head is turned to the right. Another man in badly torn clothing sits in front of him.
