Notlar	The event is the Aviators’ New Year Lottery (Yılbaşı Tayyare Piyangosu), which in the 1930s took place in the conference room of Darülfünun . The exact year is hard to establish, but Cumhuriyet reported on the event with a picture on 1 January of every year throughout the decade. The lottery of the Turkish Aviators’ Society (Türk Tayyare Cemiyeti) was established in 1926. - Men are seated at tables on a stage. Two little girls are standing on footstools in front of large lottery boxes, awaiting directions. In the auditorium, a mainly male audience is anticipating the draw. The spectators hold sheets in their hands. Some sheets are folded over the back of the seats.
