Notlar	Vocalized text. Arabic translation by Augustin Rodet and Ibrahim al-Yāzijī. (Graf, G. Gesch. der christl. arab. Lit. IV:241.). This translation was prepared by the Jesuits as a rival to the translation of Van Dyck, published by the American Bible society, 1860-65. The translation was made from the original Hebrew and Greek, compared with the Vulgate, the Septuagint and the Syriac. In critical passages the Vulgate was followed. Each volume has general and a special t.p. and an approbation by Vincentius Bracco, enclosed in an ornamental coloured border. Vol. 2 lacks ed. statement; v. 3: Ṭabʻah 2. Vol. 1 dated: 1890; v. 3: 1882.
