Collation: IV (8), VI (20), IV (28), 20 V(228), I (230), 12 V(350), IV (358) ; chiefly quinions ; catchwords appear on the final folio of each quire, occasionally lacking or appearing more frequently ; foliation in black ink, Hindu-Arabic numerals ; pagination in pencil, Western numerals, supplied during digitization (includes inserts and reverts to p.627 following p.686). Layout: Written in 31 lines per page ; frame-ruled (impression of ruling board evident). Script: Naskh ; small, neat Turkish or Persian hand ; virtually serifless ; quite rounded and freely ligatured ; mainly closed counters ; three dots supplied as inverted comma. Decoration: Section headings and keywords rubricated ; textual dividers in the form of three discs and overlining in red. Support: non-European laid paper with chain lines (vertical) grouped in threes, 35-42 mm. between the groups and 8-10 mm. between the chains ; laid lines spaced roughly 8 laid lines per cm. Binding: Pasteboards covered in red brown leather with spine in black leather (repair) ; Type II binding (with flap, though now lost) ; board linings in European laid paper ; upper cover bears central blind-tooled mandorla without pendants, but carrying diamond and interlace design within (compare Weisweiler 89) and decorative frame with roll-border and blind-stamped floral design ; lower cover bears blind-tooled ornament in the form of an eight-branched star filled with interlace (compare Weisweiler 99-101) ; and decorative frame nearly identical to that of upper cover ; sewn in cream thread, two stations ; endbands in red and blue, quite damaged with repairs in cream thread sewn over ; in poor condition with severe abrasion (gashes), staining, splitting and lifting of leather at spine, delamination of boards, loss of flap, etc. ; housed in box for protection. Former shelfmark: British Museum, London "No. 29. Decisions of al-Bazzazi." Accompanying materials: Inserts carrying notes paginated (pp.37-38, pp.39-40). Origin: Lacks dated colophon. Decisions of al-Bazzazi." ; circular seal impression with figure of goat/gazelle in purple ink as well as inscription "96" in Western numerals on fol.1a (p.1) ; on blue-tinted paper pasted at on fol.1a (p.1), a detailed waqf statement in the name of al-Sayyid ʻAbd Allāh Adīb (Abdullah Edip), known as Jannatʹzādah (Cennet-zade), qāḍī of Erzurum, accompanied by his seal, reads: "وقفت وقفا صحيحا شرعيا بشرط ان لا يخرج من بيت الكتب الملتصق بداري الا لعلماء سكنوا بارضروم بكفيل مرعى اورهن قوي وانا الفقير اليه عز شانه السيد عبد الله اديب الشهير بجنت زاده القاضي بمدينة ارضروم عفى [كذا] في سنة اثنى وستين ومائتين والف" ; numerous notabilia (side-heads) throughout ; occasional marginal corrections and glosses ; thread tabs (as bookmarkers) in blue and red.
