Title supplied by cataloguer. 1. p.2 : [brief excerpt from Ḥāshiyat al-uṣūl wa-ghāshiyat al-fuṣūl ʻalá al-Muqaddimāt al-arbaʻ] / al-Qāzābādī. 2. p.3 : [blank]. 3. p.4-p.121 : [Sharḥ al-Taṣrīf al-ʻIzzī] / Yaḥyá ibn Ibrāhīm ibn ʻAbd al-Salām al-Zanjānī. 4. p.122-123 : [originally left blank]. 5. p.124-p.126 : [brief excerpt from Sharḥ Ādāb al-Birkawī] / al-Qāzābādī. Collation: i, 6 V(60), iii ; entirely quinions ; added leaves from textblock previously housed in this cover ; catchwords present ; pagination in pencil, Western numerals, supplied during digitization (includes leaves carried from textblock previously housed in this cover). Layout: Written in 15 lines per page ; frame-ruled. Script: Naskh ; clear Turkish hand ; virtually serifless, though occasional head-serifs appear irregularly on alif, lām, etc. ; effect of tilt to the left ; many open counters ; rounded ; kāf mashkūlah (mashqūqah) preferred. Decoration: Keywords rubricated ; textual dividers in the form of three dots. Support: European laid paper with 8 laid lines per cm. (vertical) and chain lines spaced 30 mm. apart (horizontal) ; crown-star-crescent watermark, accompanied by countermark of "G V" surmounted by trefoil ; thick, sturdy and well-burnished. Binding: Serving as a wrapper, pasteboards covered in laid paper (likely originally marbled, compare flap) with spine, fore-edge flap and edges/turn-ins in black leather ; Type II binding (with flap) ; board linings in laid paper ; originally housed a different textblock ; current textblock sewn in pink thread, two stations but simply set in to cover without attachment to spine or endleaves ; overall in poor condition with much abrasion, lifting and losses of paper and leather, delamination of boards, staining, etc. ; repairs in dark brown leather ; housed in envelope. Former shelfmark: British Museum, London "No. 147. Commentary on al-Tashrif." Shelfmark: Ann Arbor, University of Michigan, Special Collections Research Center, Isl. Ms. 143. Incipit: "الحمد لله على جزيل نعمائه السابقة واشكره على جميل الائه [؟] المتلاحقة ... وبعد يقول اضعف عباد الله واحوجهم الى رحمته يحيى [؟] الملقب بالامام المعظم ابن ابراهيم ابن عبد السلام الزنجاني لما [رايت؟] قلوب الطلاب من محصلى ابناء زماننا مائلة بهذا المختصر في علم الصرف المنسوب الى المولى المعظم ... عز الملة والدين عماد الاسلام والمسلمين عبد الوهاب ابراهيم الزنجاني ... اردت ان [اشرحه] شرحا فائقا ..." Explicit: "والفرق بين المصدر في النوع من هذا القسم القرينة [؟]" Colophon: "Scribal," rectangular, reads: "تم الكتاب بعون الله الملك الوهاب رحمة الله عليه [كذا] من عبد الضعيف الفقير الحقير الى رب الكريم احمد ابن طورسى رحمة الله عليه ذي القعدنك اوندردنجى كنى ثلا وقتنده تم الكتاب تاريخ سنه خمسه وخمسون [اربعون] والف" Origin: As appears in colophon on p.121, copied by Aḥmad ibn Ṭūrsī []. Transcription finished Dhū al-Qaʻdah 1045 [] [April-May 1636]. Appears that copyist originally entered خمسون then added اربعون above it.

Ms. 15) ; a few marginal corrections.
