Ms. 1086, Origin: Hand, paper, provenance etc suggest perhaps 19th century, Ottoman Istanbul or provinces, likely Egypt., Gifted in 1964 by Dr. Alexander Grant Ruthven (1882-1971) who served as the University of Michigan's seventh president from 1929 to 1951. Likely collected in Egypt by his son Peter (Alexander Peter Ruthven 1912-1965). Transferred to the Rare Book Room from the Kelsey Museum of Archaeology in 1981.
