Notlar Ms. codex.Title supplied by the cataloger.Copied by Hafız Osman bin Davut and completed on 11 of Muḥarram 1172 (1758) -- colophon (fol. 362b). Between this and the end of text (see explicit) is what appears to be another colophon (starts with "qad tamma hādhā al-kitāb ...") with the date 17 of Rajab 116? [the word covered with paper repair] (1747-1756). This is in exactly the same hand and perhaps refers to the completion of the writing of the text while the second colophon refers to the final finishing touches, decoration etc.?31 lines per page. Written in a medium naskh in black ink with some use of red for rubrication. Text is written inside a single line frame in red ink. The frames on fol. 1b, 2a and 362b are in wide gold leaf outlined in black ink. Fol. 1b has an illuminated head piece executed in gold leaf with orange, red, purple, green and white watercolors, and has gold circles for breaks inside the text. Fol. 362b has a double tail piece decorated with gold ink and also has gold circles inside the text. Catchwords on the verso of each leaf. Glazed European paper. Pagination in pencil in Arabic numerals. Substantial water damage and some repairs to the paper at the start and end of the ms.Incipit: الحمد لله الذى صلى بنفسه على النبى عليه اكمل الصلوة ... اما بعد حق سبحانه وتعالى حضرتلرى نوع انسانى جملدن مكرمExplicit: الله عظيم الشانكه جمله عالملرك موجدى ومربسى ومالك ومتصرفيدر - Brown leather over pasteboard with blind tooled panel design on covers, consisting of a wide guilloche and several fillets around the edges, four corner pieces, central mandorlas with pendants and fillets along the vertical axes, and several clusters of small rosetta stamps between the border design and the central motif. Pastedowns in light blue paper. Back flyleaf (only one present) in thick cream paper, fastened to the pastedown with decorated paper in square pattern in blue, green and red. - A commentary on Jazūlī's Dalāʼil al-khayrāt, a collection of prayers for the Prophet, including those associated with the pilgrimage to the Prophet's tomb in Medina.
