Notlar Ms. codex.Title from colophon of the first Rubʻ (fol. 34b).Physical description: 23 lines per page. Written in medium small naskh in black ink with use of red ; red dots marking hemistich. The text is vocalized ; final yāʼ dotted. Soft paper, dark cream, with laid lines and a few chain lines visible ; frame-ruled. Several inscriptions on fol. 1b-2a and 121a-b, including ownership statements, prayers, and records of birth dates. Chiefly quaternions, numbered using Arabic numerals. Worm-eaten ; stained with water ; tail of text block damaged ; a few loose leaves.Origin: According to colophons, copied from a copy made on a copy written by Muḥammad ibn Sulaymān al-Anṣārī, known as Khaṭīb Dāriyā, 768 H., and collated with Shams al-Dīn al-Ṭarābulusī (fol. 34b, 71a). The final colophon states that this copy was made on a copy made on a copy by Ibn al-Khayyāṭ, and that it was copied by ʻAbd Allāh ibn Muḥammad ibn ʻAbd Allāh ibn ʻUmar ibn Muḥammad al-Zakī al-ʻIzzī in Jumādá II 862 [April-May 1458] (fol. 120b). On the copyist, see Sakhāwī, Ḍawʼ, vol. 5, p. 54-55 (no. 202) and GAL, SII, 915.Incipit: بسم ... قال الفقير عمر بن الوردي الحمد لله اتم الحمد وافضل الصلوة للانجاب محمد والال والاصحاب وبعد فالعلم عظيم المنزلة قد اصطفى الله خيار الخلق لهExplicit: والحمد لله جزيل الفضل ثم على نبيه اصلّى والآل والصحب هذا اختم نظمي والله تعالى اعلم تمت - Versification of al-Ḥāwī al-ṣaghīr, a collection of fatwas according to the Shafiʻite school by ʻAbd al-Ghaffār ibn ʻAbd al-Karīm al-Qazwīnī (d. 665/1266). According to the end of the text, the versification was completed in 730 H. [1329 or 30] (see fol. 120b). The text is divided in four parts (rubʻ), each with a colophon and title (see fol. 34b-35a).
