Light cream glazed paper with laid and chain lines visible (some fol. appear light orange). Fol. 8 is a later replacement. Marginal annotations by several hands, some excerpted from al-Qasṭallānī [Aḥmad ibn Muḥammad, d. 923/1517]. Long poem on fol. 1a. Inscription in Arabic script on a label pasted on the fore-edge flap (horizontal): "Khaṭṭ 35 [in Arabic and Western numerals] al-Juzʼ al-thālith min Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī fī(?) 837".Collation: Paper, fol. 234 ; 1¹⁰ (-2 before fol. 1) 2-23¹⁰ 24⁶ ; catchword on the verso of each leaf ; from fifth quire on, the quires are numbered using Arabic ordinals (see "khāmis" on fol 39a).Copy completed on 23 Rabīʻ al-Awwal 834 [Dec. 9, 1430] ʻAlī ibn Yūsuf, known as al-Bānyāsī al-Shāfiʻī al-muḥaddith (colophon, fol. 234b).Incipit: باب اذا جامع في رمضان ويذكر عن ابي هريرة رفعه من افطر يومًا من رمضانExplicit: باب ايصاب من الطعام في ارض الحرب ... [234ب] ... حدثنا موسي بن اسماعيل ثنا عبد الواحد ثنا الشيباني قال ... قال وقال آخرون حرّمها البتو وسألت سعيد بن حبير فقال حرّمها البتة وصلي الله على سيّدنا محمد وآله وصحبه وصحبه وسلم تسليمًا كثيرًا نجز الجزءو الثالث من كتاب الجامع الصحيح للامام ابى عبد الله محمد بن اسماعيل البخاري رضى الله عنه وارضاه ... يتلوه الجزء الرابع ان شاء الله تعالي كتاب الجزية والموادعة مع اهل الذمة والحرب والحمد لله وحده وهو حسبى ونعم الوكيل - Disbound quires placed in a binding made of golden brown leather over paper pasteboards for upper and lower covers, fore-edge flap and envelope flap. Crude blind tooling on the covers and flaps, consisting of a central mandorla and an outer frame made of fillets on upper and lower covers, and a similar frame on fore-edge flap and envelope flap. Red dyed paper doublure. - Third part of the Jāmiʻ al-ṣaḥīḥ, comprising the end of Kitāb al-ṣawm to the beginning of Kitāb al-jihād.
