Rescher, MFO 5, 1911, p. 490) and Vatican 1462 to al-Tha ʻālibī, d. 429/1038 (Brockelmann, GAL, S I, 502, no. 48). The anon. ms. Chester Beatty Library: A handlist of the Arabic manuscripts, 4759/2 (Majmūʻ fī al-ḥikam wa-al-ādāb) probably contains the same work.The preface in the present ms. differs from that in ms. Garrett 205 and Leiden 478. Folio 1 is damaged. Incip. (as extant): ... الاجواد من ذوى الهمم ... أما بعد فهذا مجموع في الحکم والآداب اثرت فىه الاختصار على الاطناب ... وعنونته بکتاب الآداب
