The title appears in the preamble as: Majālis al-abrār wa-masālik al-akhyār wa-maḥāʼiq al-bidaʻ wa-maqāmiʻ al-ashrār (fol. 3b, l. 19)Incipit: الحمد لله الذى رفع اقدار العلماء بمقدار معرفة كتابه المحكم ثم هدى المحدثين بمصابيح السنّة ... وبعد هذا المكتوب بالقلم شرح لبعض صحاح المعظمExplicit: لان الرضاء شرط فى لزوم المال وسقوطه والاكراه بعدم الرضاء على ما بين فى موضعهPhysical description: 23 lines per page. Written in medium small taʻlīq, in black ink with use of magenta for headings and overlinings. European paper with watermark, glossy. Later pieces of paper with inscritpions placed between the leaves. Short excerpt from Sharḥ-i kabīr by another hand on last folio. The last leaves are stained.Inscription in Western numerals on a label pasted on the upper cover: "550". - Brown leather over boards for upper and lower covers, fore-edge flap and envelope flap. Both covers have a blind stamped central scalloped mandorla outlined by blind fillets, with three impressions of a rosette stamp at each side on the vertical axis. The outer border consists of a single fillet with impressions of the same stamp. The fore-edge flap and envelope flap have a border consisting of a single fillet with impressions of a larger stamp with a floral motif. Red-brown leather doublure. Paper pastedowns on upper and lower covers. Disbound. - One hundred traditions from the Maṣābīḥ al-sunnah by al-Ḥusayn ibn Masʻūd al-Baghawī (d. 516/1122), with paraenetic commentary (see table of contents in preamble, fol. 3b-5b).
