The covers have a central blind stamped scalloped mandorla filled with floral motif, with two pendants on the vertical axis. Outer border consists of fillets and a guilloche. Portion of the same tooling on the envelope flap. Brown leather doublure. - Abridgment of Jāmiʻ al-uṣūl li-aḥādīth al-rasūl by Ibn al-Athīr (d. 606/1210). The abridgment was completed on a Friday, beginning ("mustahall") of Dhū al-Qaʻdah 916 [Jan. 1511], and its correction on a Monday, beginning of Muḥarram 917 [March 1511] (see note attributed to the author at the end of the text, fol. 365b, with ijāzah).
