Notlar Ms. codex.Title from fol. 1a.21 lines per page. Written in a small nastaʻlīq in black ink with use of red for rubrication. Text is inside a single line in red ink. Catchwords on the verso of each leaf. Glazed European paper. Fol. 1a has a kabīkaj and a number of short inscriptions, two with dates 1169 (1755-56) amd 1847. Fol. 1b-2a have a table of contents. Fol. 299b-301 have a text in Ottoman Turkish in a later hand.Incipit: الحمد لله رب العالمين ... يقول العبد المتوسل الى الله تعالى باقوى الذريعة عبيد الله بن مسعود بن تاج الشريعة ... هذا حل المواضع المغلقة من وقاية الرواية من مسائل الهدايةExplicit: ومع ذلك يباح التناول اعتماد على الغالب - Brown leather over pasteboard. Blind fillets around the borders of covers. Blind stamped mandorlas in the centre of upper and lower covers. Pastedowns in marbled paper. The entire ms. is in a very fragile state: substantial worm damage both to binding and text, water damage to paper, many sheets loose inside what remains of the covers. - A commentary on Wiqāyat al-riwāyah fī masāʼil al-Hidāyah, a work on fiqh by the author's grandfather, Maḥmūd ibn Ṣadr al-Sharīʻah al-Maḥbūbī (d. 1274 or 5). As for the work itself, Wiqāyat al-riwāyah is an epitome of the work called al-Hidāyah by ʻAlī ibn Abī Bakr al-Marghīnānī (d. 1196 or 7).
