Light cream paper, glossy. Marginal annotations. Inscriptions in Arabic and Ottoman Turkish on fol. 171b. Title on tail of text block. Water damage.Collation: Paper, fol. i, 171, i ; i (free endpaper) 1¹⁰ (-1, at beginning of quire) 2-16¹⁰ 17¹² i (free endpaper).Inscriptions in Arabic script on a label pasted on the upper cover: "Uṣūl 5". Inscription in Arabic script on a label pasted on the pastedown of upper cover: "Ḥ 171/2".Origin: Written under the dictation of(?) al-shaykh Muḥyī al-Dīn al-Qunawī, in Üsküb [Skopje]. The ḥāshiyah was completed on Thursday 3 Ṣafar 888 [March 13, 1483] (colophon, fol. 170b). Verse of poetry with the numeral equivalent of the words written above and underneath the line on the lower margin of the same folio.Incipit: الحمد لله رب العالمبن والصلوة والسلام على رسوله محمد واله اجمعين باب الامر هو قول القايل لمن دونه افعل ولا يتوقف حقيقتهExplicit and colophon: قلنا الظرف تجامع المظروف كالشرط بجامع المشروط فعند تعذّر [170ب] الظرف حقيقة يصير كناية عن الشرط مجازًا تم الكتاب بعون الملك الوهاب فى يد اضعف العباد من ليس له وطن ولا بلاد [خط اخر] كتاب المغنى من اصول الفقه فى مذهب ابى حنيفه رحمه الله كتب وقرى من مولانا شيخ محيى الدين القنوى سلّمه الله فى مدينه اسكوب المحروسه ووقع الفراغ من تحشيته يوم الخميس ثلث من صفر سنه ثمان وثمانين وثمانمايه يا بر اغفر لى ولمن يقراء من بعدى ويدعو لكاتبه الفقير ودعى - Light purple cloth over paper pasteboards for upper and lower covers. Purple dyed paper pastedown and free endpaper. - Treatise on the principles of jurisprudence according to the Ḥanafite school.
