Foliation in pencil in Western numerals. Evidence of gold glitter applied over the ink of the title. Line "wa-Fuṣūs al-ḥikam" at the end of the title, in a similar hand but faint. Two ownership statements on fol. 1a, one in the name of Maḥmūd Fayḍī al-ʻImādī al-Shāfiʻī al-Qādirī , and the other in the name of Aḥmad Najīb bin Aḥmad Ṭāhir, in silver glitter ink, dated Jā. 1283 (1866).Incipit: الحمد لله الحي القيوم المقسم بمواقع النجوم ... اما بعد فيا ذا العقل السليم والمتصف باوصاف الكمال والتتميمExplicit: الدرة البيضآء موصلنا الي نيل هذه المقامات العلية القدسية بالتسليم والتفويض بموارد القضآء والحمد لله رب العالمين ولا حول ولا قوة الا بالله العلي العظيم وحسبنا الله فى كل موطن كملت المواقع بحمد الله وعونه - Brown leather with gold tooled mandorlas with pendants in the center, and gold roll and fillets on the borders of upper and lower covers. Spine and cover edges repaired in different light brown leather. Leather doublures with double gold fillet around the edges. Label on upper cover: "Taṣawwuf 101". - A treatise in the precepts of Islamic mysticism composed in 1199 in Almeria and written in the form of advice to Ibn al-ʻArabī's disciple ʻAlī bin Badr al-Ḥabashī, to whom it is dedicated.
