On title page is an owner's signature and a note that the author was known as Ustādh [teacher] of Rāghib Pāshā, a vizier of Sultan Muṣṭafá, 1553, son of Sultan Sulaymān I, who reigned 1520-1566.Collation: Paper ; fol. 164 ; catchwords ; modern foliation in pencil using Western numerals.Layout: 23 lines per page ; frame-ruled in red.Description: Rubricated ; MS in excellent condition.Decoration: Gilt-illuminated headpiece. Fols. 1b and 2a frame-ruled in gold.Origin: According to colophon copied 18 Shawwāl 1217 by ʻUrbakīrī Yaḥyá Afandīʹzādah Ayyūb Ṣābir (fol. 164a).Incipit: بسم الله ... نحمدك اللهم على ما اوليت من فضائل النعمColophon: قد وقع الفراغ من تحرير هذه [هذا] الکتاب الشريف على يد الفقيرعربکيرى يحيى افندي زاده ايوب صابرالمدرس في السلطنة العلية في شهر 18 شوال سنة سبع وعشرين ومائتين والف من هجرة من له العز والشرف - Contemporaneous? type II (with flap) binding in brown leather. Gold-tooled decorative edging on covers and flap. Blue paper pastedowns and gold-sprinkled green flyleaves. Endbands. - A biography of the Prophet in 63 verses of poetry, with commentary.
