Marginal annotations apparently by the same hand as the main text. Note in pencil after the colophon, mentioning the date 1339 H. [1920 or 1921]. Title on spine label (horizontal): "Jāmiʻ al-maqāl".Copied by Riḍā Ibn al-Ḥusayn al-Salmānī al-Abarqūhī originally, now living in Qalʻah-yi Shahrsab (or Shahrīb), on 27 Jumādá al-Thānī 1235 [April 11, 1820] for? Ākhund Mullā ʻAlī (colophon, fol. 160a).Incipit: اما بعد حمد الله الهادى الى الرشاد والصلوة على محمد واله الامجاد فيقول الفقير الى ربّه الغنى فخر الدين ابن محمد على النجفى لما كان العلم بالاحكام الشرعية والمسائل الفقهية ... امّا المقدمة فالحديث لغة الخبر قليله وكثيرهExplicit: فيه كفاية لمن رام الاطلاع على دراية هذه الاوضاع والحمد لله اولاً واخرا والصلوة والسلم على خير خلقه محمد ابن عبد الله واله المقصومين الاطياب الهداه - Upper and lower covers made of marbled paper with nenuphar motifs over paper pasteboards, with borders and spine in gold brown leather. - Treatise on the science of ḥadīth and their transmitters, According to a note at the end of the text (fol. 160a), the text was completed on 1 Shawwāl 1088 [Nov. 27, 1677], which does not match with the death date of Ṭurayḥī.
