On a few pages the text has been framed in double gold lines with an outer marginal gold border; the illuminator's work was not completed. Inserts. Light staining; in excellent condition.Incipit (commentary on āyah 2:151):ىعنى اتمام نعمت کردم بر شما در امر قبله ىا در آخرت هم چنانکه اتمام کردن بر شما باىنکه ارسال نمودن در مىان شما رسولى از شما ىعنى از عرب و آن محمد است - Full brown leather over pasted boards; blind-stamped central mandorla and pendants surrounded by a tooled scroll design; blind-tooled and stamped fillets. Green paper doublures. - Section from an unidentified Shiʻite tafsīr in Persian, treating āyahs 2:150-9:52. The author cites traditions from the Imams as well as Tafsīr al-ʻAyyāshī.
