Notlar Ms. codex.Title from fol. 2a.The colophon (fol. 74b) states that "a portion" [?] of this book (tamma miqdār hadhā al-kitāb) was completed in 1170 (1756-57), but there is no evidence of any part of the ms. being in a different hand, or in different ink or on different paper from the rest. Given the ownership date on fol. 2a, 1170 is possibly an error for 1107 (1695-96) [?].Written in small nastaʻlīq in black ink with use of red for rubrication. Text written within a single line frame in red ink, except on ff. 2b-3a, where the frame is in gold leaf outlined in black ink. Illuminated head piece on fol. 2b, in gold leaf with black ink. Catchwords on the verso of each leaf. Glazed European paper. Ownership signature in black ink laced with gold glitter in the name of Hacı Feyzullah, dated 1150 (1737 or 38), on fol. 2a. Another ownership signature on the same fol. in the name of Mir Abdülkadir, date and seal obliterated. Title on the top of fol. 2a: Tarih-i bahir.Illustrations: fol. 2b: map of the Mediterranean executed in black ink and blue and purple watercolors; fol. 3b: maps of Eastern and Western hemispheres, in black ink with blue watercolor; fol. 5b: map of the Mediterranean, in black ink and blue and purple watercolors.Incipit: سرنامهء داستان جهان ستان حمد وسپاس خوداوندزمين ... وبعد چون تاريخ هجرة نبوية بيك اللى بش سال ايروبExplicit: محمد پاشا وزارتله طمشوار بكلربكى ايكن مزبورون صكره قپودان اولدى - Brown leather with envelope flap. Spine repaired in different dark burgundy and fore edge flap in different brown leather. Gold fillet, roll and small rosetta stamps on borders of covers. Diamond shaped gold tooled mesh pattern, with small rosetta stamps and two fillets extending along the vertical axis in the centre of upper and lower covers. Same design on the envelope flap. Pastedowns in green fabric. - Kâtip Çelebi's naval history up to the year 1656.
