Notlar Ms. codex.Title from preamble (fol. 1b, l. 14-15). The same title appears on a modern label pasted on the spine (horizontal). The name of the author is supplied by the cataloger, according to Kashf al-ẓunūn, ed. Fluegel, vol. III, p. 202 and vol. VI, p. 402.17 lines per page. Written in careful professional naskh in black ink with use of red for headings and re-inking. Red circle text-stops. Thick cream paper, glossy, with laid lines and pulp visible. Catchword on the verso of the leaves at the beginning of a quire.According to the colophon, copy completed by Safarshāh ibn al-Ḥājī(?) ibn Muḥammad al-Jīlī on Yawm al-Ithnayn 14 Shawwāl 765 [July 15, 1364] in Dār al-Salām Baghdād. The date "765" is added apparently by another hand on an erased line (fol. 29b).Incipit: احمد الله على تطوّله بابدآء ملابس حقايق المحابّ ... وبعد فقد اثبت فى اوراق هذا الكتاب رسالة سميتها الدرّة التاجية فى علم الحساب متضمّنة من علم المفتوح ... [2أ] ... امب المقدمة ففى امور مهمّة وفيها بحثان الاول فى المقدّمات اعلم انّ العدد هو نصف مجموع حاشيتيهExplicit: فى هذا الرسالة والذى اراد التبجر فى هذا الفنّ بل وفى ساير فنون الحساب فعليه بكتابنا المسمّى بنهاية الطلاب فانّ فيه من شوارد الفوايد ونوادر العوايد ما يستشفى به العليل ويستسقى منه الغليل والله احمد على الالهام بالتحقيق وايّاه اشكر على الانعام بحسن التوفيق واصلّى على نبيه محمد صاحب النيّنات الطاهرة وعلى اله واصحابه اولى النيّات الطاهة واسلّم تسليمًا كثيرًا كثيرًا وسلام - Tan leather over paper pasteboards for upper and lower covers. Both covers are similarly blind tooled with a central star motif consisting of four intersecting lines and an outer border made of fillets in groups of two and a running pattern of impressions of a large s-shape stamp. Paper pastedowns. European glazed paper with watermark for free endpaper at the end of the volume. - Treatise on arithmetics, comprising an introduction in two parts, and four chapters (bāb) -- fī al-ḍarb (fol. 3a) ; fī al-qismah (17a) ; fī al-nisbah (20a) ; fī ikhrāj al-ḥudhūr (fol. 24a). The author mentions his "Nihāyat al-ṭilāb" (or al-ṭullāb?) at the end of the text (fol. 29b, l. 2 ; see Kashf al-ẓunūn, vol. VI, p. 402).
