Before fol. 1, pasted piece of paper with note on the text.Origin: According to colophon, copied by Aḥmad ibn Yaḥyá ibn ʻAbd al-Walī ibn Abī Muḥammad ibn Khawlān, Baʻlbak, 26 Shawwāl 733 [July 10, 1333] (fol. 311b).Incipit: بفتح الهمزة وضم الرآء وحآء مهملة قرية بالشامExplicit: ذامًا الذّام والذيم العيب وقد يهمنى ومنه حديث عائشة قالت لليهود عليكم الشام والذام وقد [311ب] تقدّم في اول الحرف - Brown leather over paper pasteboards for upper and lower covers. Traces of a now wanting flap. Both covers are similarly blind and gold tooled. Central eight-pointed star filled with a geometrical pattern and gold impressions of a small stamp, and square pendants on the vertical axis, in a panel defined by fillets and an large border of fillets and a running pattern. Embossed leather doublure. Edges and spine mended. - Elegant copy of a lexicon of unusual words used in ḥadīth. This copy comprises the text up to the end of Bāb al-dhāl maʻa al-yāʾ. Beginning of copy wanting. The first extant quire starts on fol. 10a in the modern foliation (fol. 2a).
